Two Public Hearings on Wednesday, May 27th
 
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we will be requiring that anyone attending this meeting wear a face mask.  We are also asking that anyone who plans on attending the meeting call the Selectmen’s Office at 744-3559 by 4:00 pm on May 27th, to inform the office so that measures can be taken for all interested parties present to maintain social distancing while being a part of the public hearing.
NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Adjustment will hold a Public Hearing, May 27, 2020, at 6:45 PM on the applications listed below.  The Public Hearing will be held at the training room in the Fire Department, 26 Intervale Drive, New Hampton, New Hampshire.  The fire training room will be set up so that we will be able to maintain the required social distancing from each other. 

Hearing  #1
 
The applicants, Jeremy and Tania Hiltz, for property belonging to Jeremy J. Hiltz Revocable Trust, have requested a Public Hearing in accordance with RSA 676:7, for a Variance and two Special Exceptions. 
  • The first Special Exception request is under Article IV, Section F.2.Special Exception v. to construct a two family home which is an allowed use by Special Exception.
  • The second Special Exception request under Article VI. Section A.2 is to relocate the proposed structure to the center of the lot.The required setback from the side property lines is 15 ft.The east side setback of the previous home was non-conforming at 6.52 ft. but would become more conforming at 9.33 ft. and the west side setback of the previous home was 13.78 ft. and is proposed to be 10.05 ft.The proposed structure will be dimensionally non-conforming, but is part of a conforming use.
  • The Variance is under Article IV, Section F.8 of the New Hampton Zoning Ordinance.  The applicant’s proposal is to provide four parking spaces instead of the required five parking spaces as the regulations require 2 spaces per bedroom for the first two, plus ½ space per each additional bedroom.  The applicant’s proposal is for two bedrooms in each unit.
The property belonging to Jeremy J. Hiltz Revocable Trust is located at 118 Main Street, Tax Map U-7, Lot #17, in the Village District.

 
Hearing #2
 
The applicant, Wintringham Revocable Trust (William & Marsha Wintringham-TTEES), have requested a Public Hearing in accordance with RSA 674:33-a, for an Equitable Waiver of Dimensional Requirement.  The property owners, Wintringham Revocable Trust, constructed a small deck, within the 20 foot setback from the side property line.  This was discovered when the town assessors visited the property.
 
The property is owned by Marsha A. Wintringham Revocable Trust and is located at 54 West Shore Road, Tax Map U-15, Lot #8, in the General Residential, Agricultural, and Rural District (GR) and Waukewan Watershed Overlay District.

The property is located at 3 Cove Way, Tax Map U-13, Lot #14, in the General Residential, Agricultural and Rural District and the Waukewan Watershed Overlay District.

The applicant, Terrapin Station Group, has requested a Public Hearing in accordance with RSA 676:7, for a Special Exception request under Article IV, Section A(3) of the New Hampton Zoning Ordinance.  The applicant’s proposal is to operate a short-term rental, under the definition of a Bed & Breakfast/Tourist Home on property owned by Terrapin Station Group, which is a permitted use by Special Exception.
 
The property is located at 60 West Shore Road, Tax Map U-15, Lot #9, in the General Residential, Agricultural and Rural District and the Waukewan Watershed Overlay District.

The applicants, Vanessa Elliott O’Leary and Robert Elliott, have requested a Public Hearing in accordance with RSA 676:7, for a Special Exception request under Article IV, Section A(3) of the New Hampton Zoning Ordinance.  The applicants’ proposal is to operate a short-term rental, under the definition of a Bed & Breakfast/Tourist Home on property owned by the Robert J. Elliott Trust and Carole A. Elliott Trust, which is a permitted use by Special Exception.
 
The property is located at 36 West Shore Road, Tax Map U-15, Lot #5, in the General Residential, Agricultural and Rural District and the Waukewan Watershed Overlay District.

Route 104 Closures

Daytime Lane Closures on NH Route 104 in New Hampton
Lane Closures Necessary to Complete Bridge Painting
 
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces that beginning Wednesday, April 22, 2020, daytime bridge work will commence on NH Route 104 at Exit 23 on I-93 to facilitate the painting of bridge steel in New Hampton, NH.

Day operations will be in place from 7:00am to 7:00pm and are weather dependent. This project will include the painting of all structural steel on the bridge and will impact both north and southbound ramps. Motorists should use caution and obey all signage in construction zones.

Monoko, LLC of Tarpon Springs Florida is the prime contractor for this project, which includes painting structural steel on six bridges from Sanbornton to New Hampton,  scheduled to be completed in December, 2020.
