2010 Census forms
Based on information we've recieved from the NH Office of Energy and Planning the 2010 Census forms will be arriving in town starting this week. In addition, more rural towns will see census takers going house-to-house rather than mailing the forms. If anyone is concerned that a census worker is not official please contact the Portsmouth Census Office at 570-5120.
Every year more than $400 billion in federal funds is awarded to states and communities based on Census data, for services such as Police, Fire and Education. This year it’s just 10 questions that take only 10 minutes. Help make sure NH gets its fair share of federal funds.

Energy Incentives Available
Energy Incentives
1. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has provided some incentives to help homeowners cut heating bills and lower their 2009 tax bill. These 2 tax credits are for a non-business energy property credit and a residential energy efficient property credit. For further information go the ARRA webpage (IRS Tax Provisions) http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0..id=206875.00.html
2. Public Service of NH (PSNH) has expanded its Home Energy Audit program to include homes that use any type of heating fuel. By contributing $100, eligible participants can benefit from a “whole house” energy audit, including a blower-door-guided air infiltration test, as well as a safety inspection of combustible appliances. Once the audit is complete, you will receive an assessment of your home’s energy efficiency opportunities including possible improvements as their costs. Program participants are eligible for up to $4,000 in rebates to help pay for recommended efficiency measures. For more information go to www.psnh.com and click on the “Home Energy Audit” link, or call 1-800-662-7764.
